It belonged to my wife's father, who passed away a year ago. Now it belongs to me and I'm not sure what it's used for. It has a Warranted Superior medallion, the blade measures about 23", 11 PPI, and the top is marked "RELIANCE 4".
Thanks.

It looks to me like there is stuff around the pin at the handle end that reminds me of what I see on tree pruning saws. I don't know if it was intended as such or not, but I think this particular saw was used for tree trimming.

You know, now that you mention it, I believe he may have told me once that it was a meat saw.

Definitely a meat saw. I've butchered a few deer and a couple moose with those and still have one hanging in the shed. With moose, it made me appreciate bandsaws in a big way.

Yes, a meat saw. And they are still available, or were up til last year.

In actual fact, it should be called a 'bone saw' 'cos that's what you actually use them for - 'meat' just clags up the teeth, and is far better cut with a knife. And 'real' teeth take the shine off the teeth real quick, too.. :U

Cheers,
