A Tasty Morsel But What Is It? A Verniered Divider?

While looking at this site http://kolb-rahmenbau.ch/ last night I encountered this and wondered what its intended purpose was. The site's owner commented it was a flea market find and that it has no manufacturer's identification. Any ideas? Even for those with no interest in bicycles, the site and accompanying photos are, in my opinion, worth a look. Examples of beautiful workmanship abound.

Thank you Chris, well done. :2tsup: The flea market find appears to have the edge, quality wise. I have a cutting blade that fits my nice Rotring compass, I've used it once in 20 years so there's not much sense in me lusting after one of these morsels. But then, precision marking out, mmmm...

The ebay version looks like a budget version of the other. The main locking screw is missing and it has no fine adjustment mechanism (also missing on most of the digital callipers I have see I find this a right PITA if I want to set a specific measurement on any calliper). The one on Bobs picture also has what looks like an offsetting mechanism above the fine adjustment mechanism. The other thing is the right box is important in looking after these things.
