This goblet is made from Yew and stands 7 3/4” tall and 2 1/2” at its widest point the rings are 3/16”.
The last picture is of the third ring that I broke off as I only wanted the two, I always cut an extra one in case of an accident if not then I select the worst one to be broken off. I turn the rings with standard tools and a couple of home made ones from Allan keys (Wrenches) as I do not own any of the ring forming tools

Very nicely done.

Was the Yew easy to turn?

Hi dalboy,
Very nice looks good, my only comment would
be that the foot/base is a bit small, but the finish
and the overall shape is good, well done:2tsup:

Yew is a great wood to turn easy and you can get a great finish straight off of the tool

I keep looking at the foot and this is something that I agree on even from the point of when I first turned it, but I decided to leave it as is instead of making a separate foot again out of yew so it matched.
Besides that the wife likes it so who am I to argue
