Makita router fence

I have a big Makita router, the RP2301FC and I think it is very good. Heaps of power, smooth operation etc. The fence however is primitive. Apparently Makita make a fine adjuster for the fence but locating one has proved next to impossible. The Makita people in Australia have been next to no help. Does anyone know where I can get the fine adjuster for the fence, either in Australia or on line?

Can't you make one yourself?

All that would be required is a length of (metric?) threaded rod and some nuts and washers to suit.

Sure it mightn't look too elegant, but it's all about the operation anyway isn't it?
