Hi All! Crowie suggested to post here.

I've made a few of these recently. It's a fairly simple plane made from pine. The wings are stained with an interior Jarrah stain. Everything else is rubbed with Tung oil. Only challenge was cleaning up the glue near the wing dowels. I was hasty in finishing this one and some glue was left and the stain didn't take properly.

I think I'll try one out of Jarrah next.

Thank you Lewis....
You just can't beat a simple strong wooden toy for a child to have hours of fun, play and imagination....
Yours will be flying all over the skies of the West for years to come.... well done sir..
Cheers, crowie

Good suggestion by Crowie. We always like to see what others are making. The more contributors here the better.
That's a great little design that the kids will love. Well done.

I made a few wood aeroplanes for my 2 boys, about 20 years ago when they were younger. A fun project for me and gave the kids a lot of fun.

Just finished a Jarrah/Tas Oak plane. It's about twice as heavy as the pine!329104329105

Great little plane, looks nice and sturdy and ready to tackle anything. I have made a few toy planes in the past and used 6mm ply for the wings.
