Hi learned friends,
I have a woodlathe with the pot to change speeds for the VSD remote from the drive box and it takes 10 turns from zero to top speed. I want to change it for one that is 1 turn from zero to flat out like my old lathe has. I have the manual, wiring diagram and the pot values and Mods I am an electrician. What I don't know is if it will effect the programming already set in the VSD. Can anyone offer any advice.
Thanks,
Rgds,
Crocy

Should be a straightforward swap of one pot for another. The pot on a VFDs is just a voltage divider and the VFD doesn't care how the voltage is divided.
The only thing to consider is that with a 270deg turn pot, you may be able trip the overvoltage easier by dropping the speed too quickly. But if you do, you'll know straight away what happened and avoid doing it again...

Thanks for that Joe. Electronics was never my strong point but my limited knowledge of it thought it should not be a problem.
