Just a quick FYI

Preparations for the 2015 Australian Woodturning Exhibition is again in full swing, however due to clashing dates with the Whitehorse theatre group, the exhibition has been moved forward by a week, and will now be held between 5th and 7th June 2015. This is the Victorian long weekend celebrating the Queen's Birthday.
This means that entry forms must be submitted by 15th May 2015, and the final date for hand delivery of exhibits will be Tuesday 2nd June 2015. Please mark your calendars accordingly

Following the 2014 exhibition, an extensive review of all processes and procedures have been undertaken, and updates to the “Conditions of Entry” and “Entry Forms” will be posted on the AWTEX website (http://www.theaustralianwoodturningexhibition.net (http://www.theaustralianwoodturningexhibition.net/)) in December.
Amongst these changes, a new and additional category (“O”) has been included for the 2015 exhibition, to cover “Ornamental turning”.

Please be advised that the DVD covering the 2014 exhibition has been delayed due to technical difficulties, but should be distributed this month.

Woodturners around Australia should support this event any way you can.
I will be.
It doesn't matter if you are a novice and have never entered such an event before. Have a go. You risk nothing but can gain a lot.
The committee puts in a lot of hard work to provide a competition worthy of a National reputation and are constantly revising their procedures to make for a better event. The more entries they get the better the event is and the stronger it becomes.
So get off your bum, start planning your entries and turn a few things for our National Woodturning event.
