Had a visit from our Mexican friend this afternoon. He has been stripped of his LNs and sent on his way.

A couple of reds helped ease his pain ;)

L to R, AlexS, Andrew Downie, Wongo, Woodborer.

In the 70's and 80's when I drove taxis on the weekends even the radio operators called me Gnome!!!! That was in the days of voice radio in the cabs ..... 1st car Hawthorn - Gnome ....

I drove back today and now I know why I got better petrol economy

It was a great night hosted by Alex.

Andrew is a blind person but his woodwork is tops. He uses power tools and handtools to get really great results. An amazing person to meet. He even directed me after we dropped Wongo (and my plane!) off. It was a classic case of the blind leading the blind.

Andrew knows the roads around Sydney far better than I ever will. His directions were as good as his woodwork (excellent). What a talented man.

Did I read an article about Andrew somewhere a while ago? He looks familiar...

Does anyone know how to get in contact with Andrew, i am a student teacher and would love to talk to him about his woodworking ability. I really want to be a good school teacher, and i believe being able to give everyone a fair go at woodwork will help me acheive this goal.

Andrew is an inspiration to all of us. I still struggle to believe it is possible to use power tools without vision.

You should see the box he made.

I worked with Andrew Downie at OTEN. If you see him again, say "Hi" from me (Andrew Rose).

Cheers,
Andrew
