Please accept my apologies about sending that large attatchment through to you Neil. I was not sure of the formats available to you at the other end.

I appreciate the feedback about the wood being Myrtle, have not heard a lot about this wood, but hope to make some quality furniture out of it.

Is it a desirable wood to work with when making furniture(acknowledging that all wood can be classed as desirable to different people), just in your opinion, or is there another appropriate use.

If you're talking about Tasmanian myrtle, yes, it's a good timber for interior use, can have very decorative features with fiddleback & spalting. Excellent furniture timber imho.

Tasmanian myrtle burls are also good for turning bowls of all sizes. I picked up a dozen or so many years ago in Georgetown. While they were still green they were difficult to turn, now the one or two that I have left are very dry and will be more difficult. The burls are very hard on tools, but the results are very satisfying....
