Well mine has arrived from Corbs ... I like it (big thumbs up)

The parcel was here today

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/15/bc6c80b9a4f509db405b7e351b6761a7.jpg

and in the parcel

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/15/ae594166b5fe662b09c3ac1d0bc98d94.jpg

but of course you want to see not only the bonus blanks but a pen

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/15/160cf9413a56d9b8a359f373cd789db8.jpg

and from another angle

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/15/2cfa18da18bd287be31b2fccc7ccd842.jpg

Somehow I dont think mine will quite be as good or on par.

I looked at first glance and pondered this plethora of segments and all the inlay. Then it dawned on me what it was ... very effective

Thanks Corbs ... love it, CA finish I presume

Dave,
Happy the package has touched down and you're happy with it. You're correct on the CA finish too. The lead from one of the pencils fell out so I filled it with glitter and CA'd it in.

I received my parcel from Grommett two weeks back and have been a bit slow to take the photos.

I really like the pen but could not work out what the timber is. Turns out it is cross cut Camphor Laurel. I should have smelled it rather than just looking at it.

Got home from work today, and waiting patiently in the mailbox was a neat little package from USA.

Once I excitedly opened it, I was in awe of both the generosity and beauty of the contents.

Robert (MrPukaShell) I am very thankful for the pen, blanks and even the pen kit!!!

I haven't tackled a bolt action pen yet, so getting one sent to me was a real treat. It's Buckeye burl. The fact that he also included a kit and bushes for me to try one myself really is over the top. Then came the blanks. They are all with beautiful grain/figure and I can't wait to (hopefully) do them justice and turn them into pens.

Thanks a bunch to the organizers of the pen swap as it has been a bunch of fun and great to actually work 'to a deadline' however relaxed that deadline is.

Here are a couple of photos

Cheers

A little late with my posting but well worth it. I received my package from Gabriel and what a package it was. I think Gabriel thought it was a wood swap and included a pen for good measure. I received pen blanks in the following, Mango Stump, Bugeroo, Spalted Sassafrass, Fiddleback Redgum, Beefwood, Huron Pine, Rewarewa & Peppermint Burl. Blocks are in Victorian Blackwood & Blackheart Sassafrass. The pen that Gab included was turned from Banksia Wood with a flawless CA finish. Gab even included a 3 page typed letted letting me know where the timbers came from along with a little information.

I am so pleased with the swap this year. Thank you so much for putting this together as it is always so much fun. One swap down and one to go.

Thanks again Gabriel,

Robert

Package arrived my partner David. Thank you very much. Your work is superb.:D

Not only did it contain a beautiful Penlight but the package filler is awesome.
I plan on adding this to my fountain pen repair toolbox. I am very happy that I was included in this great event and if I didn't say it before HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY :cheerleader:

I'm not sure of the wood on the penlight David. Is it RedGum?
Its beautiful and the Black Titanium and Gold sets it off great.

I have not forgotten your pen. I actually finished it yesterday evening, but it needs one more piece. I should have it in the mail by next week.
Here's a sneak peak:sneek:

G'Day Folks,

Here is what Peter, USNR'03 sent me in the Pen swap.

I am unsure of the pens kit name as its the first I have seen over here, it has lovely solid feel to it and is now a regular in my pocket !

342040

The selection of blanks are great, I've always wanted to try a coffee bean blank and now have the opportunity ! The spalted timbers are getting put aside for something special, I don't know what yet but they are so well figured I am drooling over them, LOL. Not only did I get some lovely blanks, I also received a beautiful fridge magnet and key ring. The fridge magnet is keeping the most important item in place on the fridge - the menu from the local Indian Restaurant !!!

342041

Regards and thanks to you, Peter !!!

Cam

Cam Glad you enjoyed. The pen is an executive from pen state industries, my carry pen all of the time, the timber is red eucalyptus. The magnet is Aussie Cyprus (flooring). I have no idea what the unlabeled spalted blank is. I received it as a gift a few years ago. The others should be labeled if not let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Thank-you for swapping with me!!

Another Shout out to the organizers THANK-YOU!!

Was cleaning up after a great day of turning stuff in the shop with some friends, and the "One-that-must-be-obeyed" walked into the shop carrying a parcel! Well, things don't get much better!!

Cut the parcel open, and all this pretty timber jumped on me(sure do love me some pretty timber)....

Received my parcel from Michael in NZ and what a treat. The pen is a Sierra dressed in swamp kauri, said to be 4000 years old. The CA finish is immaculate.
There is also a small forest of blanks.
My photography does not do justice.
Many thanks Michael and to the organizers, it's always a treat at to take part in this.

One of my partners this year was Brad (Spankingpigeon), and his parcel arrived today. Needless to say, I'm absolutely flawed at his generosity. Not only did he send an amazing segmented pen (on a kit that I'm instantly in love with - magnetic catch, shadow chrome kit - awesome!!), but he has also sent countless amazing pen blanks and a huge 250 x 170 x 360 piece of olive wood.

All I can say is THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU what a champion! :U :2tsup:

I have noticed that this year there are quite a few partners swaps that have not posted their received pens.

If you have received your pens from your partner please post a photo in this thread. If you have not completed your pen please continue to update your partner so that they are aware of situation of the delay.

Thank you

I just sent a PM off to David. I didn't get the package in the mail until mid march. I was hoping it would arrive in time, but I expected it to be there by mid April. This was also the one time I didn't pay for tracking:no:.

As I told David, I will give it another week, then I will build and ship a new pen. I really enjoy these swaps, and I don't want darken its good spirit by not fulfilling. I wil make this right.
