my 1400 watt triton router decided to spit it today the drive shaft dropped around 4mm and went all wobbly bbbbrrrrrr!!
main bearings cactus or drive shaft snapped

i used to take my tritons to a place in scoresby but no contacts in gargle
carbatec sell em but i dont have the patience to wait for an hour to talk to a "represenative" to find out about service

who does triton repairs in east side melbourne these days??

i use this quite a lot as i build guitars - i also have one table mounted
should i be looking at a new machine ? - shudder - i need a 1/2" / 1/4" to suit my bits
the hitachi is $500+ - :C

A couple of years ago I posted a thread on replacing the bearings on my TRA001, hopefully it'll be of some use.

Bearings you can pick up from any bearing supplier. If you need specific Triton parts then your best bet is either Carba-tec or direct from the UK.

Try Timberbits-(a forum sponsor)a new 1400 for $295 and their service is usually second to none.

i am amazed at the price diff between the MO and the TRA i mean why would i not go the bigger machine?

just as an aside - their phone service would not have to be much to beat carbatec these days -
had occasion to call them twice lately first time 40 mins on hold second time i gave up and started looking elsewhere

Hi Old Picker
The TRA is a beast, using the 1400 hand held is a much easier option.

I recently ordered spares from Carbatec and from http://www.tritontools.uk.com/mof001sparesprice.html in the UK. The UK parts were here much quicker!
