Finally finished this little jewellery box for my wife Sally today she loves it.
It measures about 200mm across
And the main height is about 50mm
With out the final
Timbers were Blackwood ebony and unknown burl from the Melbourne wood show that was the ugliest thing you had ever seen well on the outside anyway
This was very challenging piece
One because it was all done on my hercus metal lathe because at present I don't have a wood lathe (saving up for that)
And two it was the first segmented turning for me and using the burl for the banding had its issues.
Sanded to 2500 then polished with ubeat Polish
I'm pretty happy with the out come
Sally and the mother in law love it phew
Now the only expensive issue is I will be expected to fill with gold and diamonds damm
Next jewellery box will be 5mm square for sure
