Getting back into working with wood. I've had a small selection of varying quality tools languishing in a storage unit from younger, less motivated days.
Just moved into a house with a small workshop room, and I'm starting to collect pallets for cheap project wood. Over the last couple days, I've picked up assorted small tools and wood to make some jigs to help work with scrap. Today, I built a fence jig for my circular saw for ripping scrap boards straight.

I look forward to the endless metric to standard conversions I will encounter here. Although I'm sure I will eventually eschew inches and feet altogether, as the whole world should!

Take care,

Cory

Look up Paul 39, he is on the forum and lives in Asheville and is a top bloke, very knowledgeable and shares our passion for wood, that's lumber to you.:2tsup::2tsup: I hope to be back in Asheville later this year so hopefully we can do a shed visit.

G'Day & Welcome to the Great Southern Land and to a top forum "Cory".
There are quite a few members from across the USA, North America and the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.....
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, crowie

PS - If the plan is IMPERIAL you must mill/machine all your timber imperial and vice versa for METRIC....

Thanks everyone for the kind words of welcome. I'll start a build thread as soon as I get started, hopefully tomorrow, on a pallet wood footstool project!

Where were you when I was in Asheville November 2013?

I actually just moved to Asheville in July, 2014. Definitely reach out when you are in town!

Well Cory if you are doing woodwork your shop must be heated as it was Very cold :oo: when I was there, but you do live in one of the nicest cities that I have ever visited. Look forward to following your progress.
