Attached is a photo of my latest pride and joy, a wooden cabinet scraper.

This tool was featured in FWW's Tools and Shops edition from last year.

The wood is Tasmanian Myrtle and if you are wondering what all the lighter coloured patches are, I think it is dry rot (it was certainly a lot softer then the surrounding wood). It wasn't apparent until I had gone to the trouble of bandsawing out the handles, so I thought, it will have to be a feature!!

Haven't managed to get it cutting as well as the article shows, I need to hone up my scraper sharpening skills

Very nice. I saw the article and am meaning to make one myself.

Let us know how well it goes, after you get the blade sharpened.

Just made one myself from the same article. Used Beech. Same deal need to work on my scraper sharpening skills also. Will report on when I have done so. Thouroughly enjoyed using a spoke shave on beech. It was a great time using some more hand tools and less power tools.
