Hi guys
I have been talking to my son and he is prepared to do another tour of the "National Measurement Institute" sometime in the near future so I am looking for expressions of interest.

The tour will be during working hours as we will get to see everything that goes on there. He could possibly do a tour on a weekend but we wouldnt see as much as he could only show us his own area and security would be a problem everywhere else.

The previous tours have been in the afternoons and I would think that this will be continued.

The previous tours have been well received by those that attended so here is your chance.

Any takers?

Roger

Hi Roger,

Thanks for the opportunity, I would be very keen. Subject to my availability with my shifts, working hours should be fine.

Cheers,

Simon

Hi Guys

How much notice is required to oganise time off?

Roger

From my POV, give me a date and I'll know instantly if I can make it. My shiftwork gives me a 6/8 chance that I will be able to make any given date. Cheers, Simon

I would need about 3 weeks notice to get time off.

This is going "above and beyond". I think this is the 4th or 5th tour. I think I did the 3rd tour. And I enjoyed it.
I'm shocking with names, but it might be a good time to work out if Roger, or his son enjoys a cool drink, on a hot day.

Availability to a Facility like like is hard to come by. I'd highly recommend the tour.

Put me down for a share, in a Red, Scotch, Slab. These blokes have gone over & beyond.

My best regards.

Phil.

I was trying to be helpful. I doubt they have moved.....If I recall correctly, they haven't been there that long.
Google says they are still there :p:p:p:p:p:p

Hi Guys
Just confirming the date Friday 20th March at 2.30PM.

A comment on "donations or gifts" These guys are all Public Servants and are not allowed to receive anything of reward.
However, if you could send an email detailing your thoughts on the tour to Andrew he can show them to his Boss and perhaps encourage other tours in the future.
Hi email is andrew dot baker at measurement dot gov dot au

Personally, I dont drink. I am just organising these tours as I thought that they would be interesting for you guys to see what happens at the top of the tree.

We dont have to take any safety gear.
Just be careful where you walk and what you lean on.

On one of the previous tours Andy had a laser set up on a tripod for some test and commented that the alignment was about 3 days work.

Thanks Roger and Andrew for organising and conducting a very interesting and informative tour of NMI last Friday afternoon. It was great to see this highly specialised type of work being done by very skilled and competent people.
