Hi guys I need some more advice about glues.
The story goes like this. Ive been dooing a litle bit of work in the shed for local buisnesses because no one else will work here and I love doing it but I digress. I am building heaps if melamine, formica, veneered board furniture and started using PVA not great but held. I progressed to yellow glue better but not great. Now I am using contact cement after some discussion with a bloke at Timbecon but It is a huge pain in the behind. Any other suggestions PLEASE!!!!!!!!
I've been using biscuits to join panels were screws are unacceptable.

Q,
you need to use AV Syntec glue, either AV 56 or the new AV 56 clear. These are designed to bond with the melamine coating on the boards you are using. I prefer the clear as the original can leave some nasty stains that even thinners won't shift. For ply and veneer board I'd use tha AV 270 which is a one part cross linking PVA.

I've made my share of shelves and bookcases using melamine chipbaord. In the end, I began using the chipboard screws with the white heads. They stay proud of the surface, but you don't need to stuff around with biscuits etc. Much easier IMHO.

Good suggestions on glue Mick.

Quokka,
Lincoln Sentry stock it, I'm pretty sure they are nation wide. Otherwise do a google for the AV-Syntec website and email them for your closest distributors.
