Gday all, our Men's shed has had a M408S lathe donated, ex a local college. We hadn't a manual and I am hoping someone might have one and are willing to photocopy it for me. I will cover all cost, thanks in advance. Darryl Dick

Hi Daggs,
What does a woodfast M4085 look like?
Just had a look and there is not much googleable about that model.
Perhaps you could post a picture of the machine in question.

This may help:

I have a 410S from Craft Supplies with a 20 inch swing. It is a wonderful lathe. I believe the 408 has a 16 inch swing. It is a very straightforward lathe and any bearings or belts should be able to be found at your local engineers or belt suppliers.

Darryl, there are a few variants of the short bed M408 lathes about. I have seen photos of them with some sort of lever operated mechanical variable speed control. May help to post a photo. If it is the standard 4 or 5 speed belt change M408 any Woodfast M408 / M410 / M908 / M910 manual should be OK.

Yep a photo would help although the older ones a pretty straight forward, nothing really complex about them.
Paul your 20" is fairly rare down here, I have been looking out for one for sometime, nary a peep :( of one.

Dags, I've sent you a PM with my email address. Send me your email and I will send you a PDF copy of the Manual - it goes about 3.5 Mb
