Would anyone have some advice on my following problem? I have had 3 antique wardrobes {silky oak, pine & cedar} in storage in a colourbond garage for the last 2 years and have recently noticed considerable shrinkage in them, particularly where the doors meet the wardrobes when shut {gapped}. I have put this down to the very dry air/heat in this area {Cobar, Western N.S.W.} and these pieces are drying out as I moved here from humid NTH QLD 2 years ago? Any help on how to stop or possibly reverse this from continuing would be greatly appreciated. Regards Joey.

Get them outta the shed! Furniture wasn't designed to be stored in tin sheds where temps can reach damn high! You will always have some movement in timber when its moved from one climate to another - but if its taken 2yrs to start becoming a problem it most likly ain't caused from the move from up here in Nth Qld. The problem has to be (in my humble opinion) in where they are stored.

Oh, antique? most likly not. Cedar one yeah. Depends though.

BTW Welcome to the board!
