Theres a big opening for some common Tasmanian humurous slur here (if anyone is game?) but why the two names?

It's interesting to see the different classifications over time of Oz trees in _Forest Trees of Australia_.
BTW: This work notes that the Huon is unusual in being able to do vegetative reproduction, viz, branches touching the ground can sprout roots.

The reason for the two botanical names Huon Pine goes by is because there is/has been a transition from the old name: H. Dacrydium franklinii to H. Lagarostrobus franklinii the reason I do not know. But I'll keep my eye out or two perhaps ha. Thanks for the reply 'rsser' and did you know it's by the method you mentioned that Huon has been found that has grown over a acre in area all originating from the parent plant that would have started off as a seedling 5000 thats 5000 years ago. And just think we just needed 200 years to all but cut it out!
