I just wanted to say thank you to one of our members on this forum, Sawdust Maker(Nick).

In the pass I have been hand sharpening my wood turning chisels. The original profile tends to change over time and the more turning I do the more I have to sharpen, its like a circle. My bowl gouges were sharpened at a 45 degree angle. Which would make the hand sharpening process a little easier or so I thought. :B During the course of turning and sharpening I found that I was making this profile a little flatter over time.

As I volunteered to be part of the wood turning demonstrators at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, http://www.woodworkforums.com/showthread.php?t=193823&p=1856321#post1856321 I thought that I needed to change the profile of the bowl gouges. The thought was to have more of a longer wing giving me more of the surface edge to turn with. There is no grinder at the show so only touch up with a diamond hone was possible.

I took my gouges to Nick's house and during the course of the morning we reground the profile of the gouges and sharpened the skew and then the parting tool.

Thank you Nick.

I completely missed the original thread that Sawdust Maker had posted.

There were before and after photos but not for all the turning chisels. :U
