Just learned on the Yahoo 9x20 Users Group that Steve Bedair has passed away.

I, and I am sure many others here, have learned a lot from Steve's excellent website. A lot of us have made the mods and additions he had on his site.

In fact I would go as far as to say that Steve was "Mr 9x20".

He was only 53.

Oh my God,

I had great respect for Steve, what he could do with a few bits and pieces was inspiring.

His ball turner was just one of many projects not to mention his wood chipper.

Does anyone know the early cause of his death?

My condolences to his wife and girls.

RIP

Ken

Just googled it, there was link going back to January 2015 saying he had Stage 4 Lung Cancer.

I think he passed away in March.

Sad news indeed, his site was/is great, not just for 9x20 owners but for anyone shopping for ideas. No one should die that young, it's obscene...

Thats sad. Its weird feeling sad for someone I never met but because I have read so much about him and got inspiration fron him (I recently used some of his ideas for my ball turner) so I cant but feel some sort of loss.

Cheers.

Sad to hear.
Before I bought my lathe, I must have read every article of his I could find. He also did a lot of astronomy stuff, another interest of mine.

Sad indeed!
A loss of a great mind - speaking in terms of DIY engineering.
