Some time back I purchased an imperial set of CTC's better grade of hss endmills. Used the 5/16" today on some 316 stainless. It performed much better than I expected. Very happy with it. I used this as I didn't want to risk damaging my screw shank sutton.

Ken, I also own some of these. They look a bit different colour wise to the standard CTC HSS. They last much longer and cut through mild steel a lot better than their HSS (which incidentally are not bad). When I used them a couple of months ago I was also pleasantly surprised.

Here's a test for you Ken. Run it over some K110 and let us know how it fares.
