First job after being confined to barracks for nearly two weeks. An acorn made from black bean, silver ash and blue gum. The ash has signs of spalting, causing the red lines. Measures 50mm long and 40mm diameter. Used some ebony for the threads and ash veneer for high lights. The blank for this job was glued up three weeks ago, so was well and truly set by the time I could get to it.

Wow, beautiful job as usual. Hard enough to glue the 3 main timbers together, but to add a veneer between them, you must have good eye sight (or good glasses).

Jim excellent work.

All that lifting and straining while cutting the segments for this piece didn't cause any damage did it? :p
