Attaching wooden pictures

I have some wood framed posters and I need to attach them all to a larger piece of wood to hang on a wall. Im not sure what the best way to attach them would be. I can't nail them because you would see the nails. Is there a very strong glue that would permanently hold up to 3 kilos? Also what sort of wood do you think would be best for the backing board that I attach them too? Thanks

How thick is the wood holding the posters? If at least about 7mm, I'd use wood screws from the back (wall side) of the backing board. Use lengths to not quite reach the front of the poster wood.

If there's a wood border around the poster, escutcheon pins (fancy nails) could be a nice decoration, as elaborate as you like.

Several strips of good double-sided tape should do the trick. If you want to be able to remove them you can use velcro instead.

Really? Will that hold them. They have glass so although not heavy heavy they do have some weight. Id say the heaviest one wouldn't be more than 0.5-1 kilos though.

thanks for the advise. This sounds like the way to go but Im confused about how to get them in the right position when putting the screws through. For example if I have all the frames layed out in their exact positions then I place the backing board on top how do I know where to put the screws?

Have a look at your local hardware store and see what is available. A few years ago now I picked up these Velcro like strips. The strips attach to the wall and the item you want to hang via a sticky back (which is removable when you want to take them off again), the Velcro like stuff is stiffer than regular Velcro and more like hundreds of little interlocking fingers. You can really tell when they engage and they hold very well.

I just found the package .... 3M Picture Hanging Strips. Well worth looking into as you may not need the backing timber if you ate able to put a few of these around the perimeter of your picture.

If the posters are in a regular grid, you could just lay out the measurements.

For arbitrary shapes and sizes, I'd set the posters face down on the floor (or whatever) in your desired arrangement. Make a mask of stout cardboard or lath strips to fit between the face-down posters and around the boundary; especially the boundary. Assemble the mask with screws, nails, glue, etc. Mark the outside corners on the floor. Remove the mask, place the backing board in registration with the corner marks, and place the mask on the back of the backing board. The openings in the mask will identify the poster locations. Depending on the scale of things, I'd place the screws about 20mm away from the edges of the posters, i.e. within the openings in the mask.
