Change out Rosewood bridge piece for Ebony?

Hi all. I bought a hollow body gretsch which is awesome. One small thing though. The bridge sits on a Rosewood standoff that doesn't look right with the rest of the guitar. I'm thinking about remaking one in Ebony, as the fretboard is Ebony. Any thoughts, more trouble than it's worth?

You could always sand it back then ebonise the existing rosewood. Use a mix of vinegar/steel wool/old tea bag, leave for a week, then strain through a cloth before applying a few coats drying in the sun in between. The refinish it

My own taste would be to use a white piece though to match the other white pieces in lieu of black

Actually the white might be better. I will ponder over the long weekend. Keen to try it out at a gig.

Since this instrument is a hollow body transmission of string energy to the body is a factor although not as important as in an acoustic instrument. On my acoustics I avoid ebony and use sandwiches of blackwood and carbon fibre for my bridges....light and stiff.

If you have a real hankering for black then IMO then Dai Sensei's suggestion is a good one involving the least effort.
