Hi folks I am currently on a Trip In Switzerland and yesterday I went to visit the Muller machine museum in Biel/Bienne and then went to the Muller machine showroom to view some really nice machinery. We had a look at one of their warehouses and they had 3 :o

Now back to the Museum , they had over 150 machine tools from 1800 all the way to the 1940s. My favorite was the two displays with running overhead lineshafts and 30 machines all working. Now let me post some phots of the museum.

Thanks for the great photos Andre, they are excellent, very close to BT quality as others have said. My comment on the machine operators, would be that the long hair on many of them was a surprise to me, I would have expected that Swiss or German traditions would have had machinists a bit more close cropped. I hope that you continue to enjoy your stay over there, and when you come back you come with some new toys.:) Cheers,
Rob.

What are the other 19-20 year olds doing? Techno music haus? Enjoy yourself and get home safe. You will remember this for the rest of your life.

I've had a good couple of days yesterday I went to a watch factory and to the Museum of horlogy and today I went to Luthy machines and the Museum of automatic lathes and had a peak in at the Tornos showroom. On the way there we drove past Tesa,Slyvac and Schaublin.
I have about 600 photos so I will start with luthy Machines if anyones intrested in seeing some pictures of old clocks let us know :U

Thanks again for the great photos Andre, no pricing info that I could see, not that I could afford any of it, but are you having anything crated up and loaded on board a boat for Australian delivery?:) I'm sure that one or two of the members here would love to see your photos of watches and clocks too, I'm one and there's bound to be a few more. Keep enjoying yourself, and have a safe trip home when the time comes,
Rob

Now while the price of these machines is high it is to bad if you have some paying work to feed them. For example the sixis mill in my last picture was 14,500 CHF and the schaublin 150 was only 30,000 CHF. I wanted I dial indicator which the cheapest was 176 CHF or some PB Swiss allan keys but they were 70CHF. But I did get a nice antique loupe so I atleast have something

I didn't realise that so many machines are needed to make these nice Swiss chocolates in their fancy boxes !

Buy your PB gear when you return home. I've bought a number of screwdivers from WERK 10. Reasonable prices along with reasonable postage and typical German efficiency.
