Perhaps you are even being serious?
Surely it should have a flat even backing surface so your canvas painting does not get horizontal lines on it.
Maybe I am just out of touch.
Still, it looks ok. Kind of rustic.

Of course they are stretched on their own frames! How stupid and "unartful" of me. Must've had too many red jelly beans when I made that post.:B
