No, not a bomb although it looks like it. I'm doing an extension on my shed. Wall off, new bay ready to pour (rain has already held us up twice) tomorrow morning (23/7). Hope to have the frame and sheeting completed by next Tuesday. Then a little bit of electrical then let the fun begin...

Hopefully by next weekend, I'll be moving in. As you can see this extension is long overdue. I can't even put the feed tables on my new drum sander due to a lack of room. In an act of cunningness, I've managed to sneak this little project in to coincide with a patio extension we're also doing. SWMBO has finally agreed that this is really a justified expense.

I'm planning to use the extra room to use the sliding table on my WC, house a lay-up table for putting things together and to act as a timber store for the recently acquired Grafton wood (my pack and a half are still in the yard under plastic).

The general mess is due to the tool usage with the abovementioned patio extension. I'll post more pics when I get it all sorted out...

How did you restrain yourself from not extending even further? :) I'm very envious of people with so much space (my small courtyard mocks me).

I also like your "gantry" system at ceiling height. Is it purely for running leads, or do you use it for storage as well?

Yep you definately need the extension, like Stylesy said there looks to be plenty of room for a much bigger extension.
Whats the extension you're putting on prefab or homemade?
Pic's are of a good size and compression, not to big/small and not grainy well done.

I can see what looks like a Triton Mk3 buried under all that. I'll bet you didn't even know you had one ! See what moving does, you find all sorts of things. :D

(PS, what make is the bandsaw, it looks like an old one like I have)

It's the lathe that intrigues me... it looks like it lives there, I certainly wouldn't want to move it, but there's no impact craters or finishing stripe up the wall! WOW!! :eek:

Its Cabac cable tray (I use this stuff at work). More to go in yet. A good way to keep the leads out of the way and also a means of storage for light stuff. The main benefit is that it uses only one support strut on each hanger. I'm also planning to mount the 100mm pvc for my dc system underneath. Its not really expensive and quite easy to put up.

Its a Totalspan shed and I first tried to just buy generic framing and sheeting but found that nothing would match because Totalspan make their own profiles. Here comes a ripoff, I thought. Its actually an awning with walls (the existing wall just moves out). The cost of this was $1150, the kit has all the bits and pieces, was delivered on time and has a comprehensive set of plans. I'm really quite pleased with it and the price.

Thanks for your comment about the photos. That's (camera) another toy,, err, tool I haven't mastered yet. Its a Fuji Finepix S7000 and really is a pleasure to use. It took me a while to figure out how to reduce the size of the pics but I guess the credit goes to the software.:)

I'm really pleased with the Triton. I check it regularly for square and it does what I think is a good job. I remember having a little chat with Bitingmidge recently about the pros and cons of a (real) saw but I can't justify that at this stage. Actually, I'm very happy with all my Triton gear and, along with others, am a little bit concerned about the GMC takeover and what that will mean for the future.

The bandsaw is an Elephant brand. Just a bog standard 14" unit but does all I need. There's a saw/blade sharpening guy who lives not far away who does my planner blades and also makes bandsaw blades for a reasonable price so I'm happy to go on using it as is.

That's a router table with a Triton router underneath. I bought a Gifkins jig at last years Brisbane wood show & was so impressed with the lack of mucking around with the Triton router, I shouted myself one.

The lathe is a Record DML24X. I'm planning on leaving it where it is. I'd like a bigger/better one but that'll have to wait. I had a near disaster turning a camphor laurel bowl some months ago. Frightened the wits out of me when a rather catastrophic dig in launched it past my face and into the tool trolley. I now have a Triton respirator with the bit thick face mask and I also keep a spare pair of jocks in the shed as well. :)

You can also reduce your images to 1mp on the camera, the finepix software also allows you to reduce in the export options, JPEG Optimizer, look under File in JASC Paintshop.
Alternate option is to email yourself a piccy and it will reduce for you.
Nice camera, I love mine.
