Dave after the work NCArcher did on my ML7 I have a spare box I'll check size with the 3000 I have I do thing though its larger.

They are not exy you'd just need to cut n drill the holes. They are about the size of a junction box in a house.

That sounds about right. Junction box size.nat a stretch I almost pondered using a junction box

Do you have any electric motor rewind services near you that maybe able to supply a box. Did you damage the fan cover as well if so ask while you are there.

Fan cover went as part of a previous episode. Repliconics has fixed that and one day when we cross paths I will get it back ;)

There probably is a r ewind place in town somewhere. I will try another electrical wholesaler thismorning on the way to work.

And running

http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06/23/a88e9aaf8bc7f48740ed119ae1229f62.jpg

Im almost back in action.

Switched the switch to the side i can see. Less likely to stick fingers in fan that way. Also put overload switch the same side.

Thanks all for help, links and sites. Saving theae for future reference

The other option for the fan shroud is a PVC endcap. You can get them pretty big at a plumbing shop.
Have fun.

DaveTTC,

Assuming you have a TEFC (totally enclosed fan cooled) motor, the shroud on the end directs the air over the motor body to cool it. Running a long time without the shroud may cook the motor.

I was working my Hegner hard with a big hard bowl blank and it stopped working. Motor was hot, covered with dust and chips. I cleaned it off, turned it on and it ran fine for another two hours. Apparently there is a thermostat inside to shut it down when it gets too hot.

Yours may or may not have the same.
