Hi All, hope you had a pleasant Easter..

Whil I was away in Bendigo I managed to stumble across an OOOLLLLDDD Apricot tree which was about to be sent to god.

I managed to convince the treee fella that it would be better of with me. OK I won, NOW What can I do with it?

The trunk is about 300mm and the limbs are about 100 - 250mm.

A few bowls seem like the way to go, BUT any othe suggestions would be welcome..

Kev.

Very nice timber that will age from a light golden/cream colour to a deep rich golden brown. Turns beautifully with a very nice figure in the grain, especially if you have any crotch wood. The limbwood makes nice goblets nsd egg cups etc.

A lot of the fruit trees have decorative grain and turn well as the previous post have attested to particularly stone fruit trees.

I have turned orange and some of the citrus trees which are a little plainer but some can have some good cooul.

I have an old apricot tree also down the back of my propety and any sizeable prunings are always put aside for pens etc.nearly always figurative in grain display.
