I finished the jacaranda cone. And made another one out of LVL 275 mm 109mm thick wall thickness is 7mm
the LVL was harsh on the tools. And was flexing away from gouge.
it was fun to turn.
I will pop up a photo of the fully finished jacaranda.
thanks for looking.

LVL stands for laminated veneer lumber. This is a structural plywood.
I bought a short length 290 by 65 and glued them together to get the size I needed.
bandsawed the blank and turned it like a bowl.

Chuck 1,

I like the random texture of the LVL piece. Nice shape also. Were there any / many voids?

I have had an off cut of a beam for a year but haven't gotten to it yet.

There is a few voids nothing to bad though. One thing I struck was when turning the inside was maintaining the wall thickness. Was don't go to deep to far. As I had gone down 50mm and the LVL was flexing away from my gouge.
So I had to change the way I normally do the inside.I couldn't do any rim to bottom final cut

The jacaranda bowl sold before the official opening of exhibition! Really need to get a bowl saver before I turn the block!
