WIP vanity top

Hi all, had an idea whilst using a mate's hand-basin, why not make a solid wood top?
So found a lump of swamp Kauri and ripped into it with e circular saw and some grinding bits.
Base to be made later. Natural surface to be kept.

One of those old cast iron hand pumps would look good on that. Keep the pics coming as I would like to see how it works out.

Going to be an interesting project.

I guess you have already thought that the lowest points of the basin will be at the lip of the bowl, to stop water pooling on the top.
