G'day
About 18 months ago I was given a lump of african mahogany and managed to get a bowl blank of about 290 mm out of it I roughed out a bowl and was able to core two daughter bowls from it .I ended up with the main bowl 250mmx130mm the middle bowl bowl 225mmx175mm and the smallest 165mmx50mm . All are finished with DO.
C&C welcome.

Great going on the bowls, the third one really appeals to me, something that just keeps me looking back at it? I also like the shape of the main piece but would prefer it without a foot.

Well done turnerted, the smaller bowl is my choice as it has a more flowing shape to that of the larger ones....great timber with skilled turning.

G'Day Ted, not overly excited withe the shape of the big on, but I do like the shape of smaller bowl. Bit of a buzz getting more bowls out of a block, instead of a heap of shavings. What tool did you use and what do you think of the timber?

All very nice. I especially like the flare at the rim of the middle one.

Thanks for the comments . I don't like the shape of the biggest one either . Thats what happens when you get too greedy trying to save too much for the second bowl and don't leave enough wood to make the best shape on the primary bowl .
