I have spotted a 2nd-hand saw with a medaillon with the inscription "Watkins (?)...Ontario" and what looks like an intertwined M&W.

I hastily add that I do know very little about hand saws except for what I have been reading on the forum, mainly about Disston saws.

The handle is carved with a leafy pattern.

The word "Ontario" on the medaillon pricked my curiosity, hence the post. I assume that some forumites may know about these saws?

Yvan. I have an idea the medallion on the Shurly & Dietrich hand saws show a maple leaf. If you cant find a match within the above S & D Catalogue, the following is a list of the major Canadian Tool & Die Manufacturers from 1820 - 1914. http://www.thetoolgroupofcanada.com/images/Canadian_Tool_Manufacturers_1820-1914.pdf

A photo of the saw medallion would help.
