Just finished a hallway table. Legs are ironbark, the edging is jarrah, however the table top has me stumped (pun intended) as to the type of wood this is? :-

I need to write it down when I buy the piece.

Hi Larkan, nice looking combination of timber.
I cant shed any light on it although looks a bit like teak.

Hate to tell you this but you need to be careful with Captive panels and solid lippings as there is no room for the natural Expansion and contraction of the timber. You may get some splitting occurring when the humidity changes.

No problem I appreciate the feedback. It has occurred to me that may be an issue so I've dowelled all four edge pieces which may provide a little stability, time will tell won't it......

Cheers, Kerry

Hi Kerry,

A long shot, but could it be Northern Hardwood?

Regards,

Rob
