I took this photo when I was walking around Melbourne very early one sunday morning last October.

Nice ladder in the boom lift. while this bloke had a harness on it wasnt attached to anything, maybe he didnt want to get home that day.

The OH&S guy at work gave a talk a couple of weeks ago, and showed a whole bunch of photos like that. I think there's a website somewhere that has them. Yous would be a good candidate. Amazing what people will do to cut corners.

Maybe he should just hook his harness over the nearby catenary cables; I don't suppose they carry a very high voltagehttp://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon10.gif

I had a boss once who suggested I do exactly that. I said if he got workcover and union approval I would be more than happy to do it.

10 minutes later he felt his life wasn't worth a great deal and did it himself.

'Idiot' was one of the polite words I used.....

The laws here in WA dictate that anyone in a boomlift needs to be harnessed in, even if it is just being driven from A to B. The laws in Victoria are probably exactly the same, so that explains why this guy would have a harness on.

Given his approach to safety, I suspect he is one of the many guys I've come across who wears the harness, but only ever hooks it up when someone chips him about it.

I'm thinking "how weak, they used a bought ladder".

Here's how it's done in Siberia.
