I tried to make a Sedona! Looked up my sheet, noted the drill sizes, and drilled the blanks, using a very good looking Osage Orange blank. Upon gluing in the tubes, strange, very roomy and sloppy!?:?! Double check the drill sizes and then remember that there were two different kit sizes, and two different drill sizes:((:oo::((,Tried turning as is!:oo: Yikes, to thin and barrel shows in a few places, wasted blank and tubes, and time..and it is one of those kits that I don't have spare tubes, grrrrrrrr. Will try turning off the wood to save the barrels. Not happy, but smile tomorrow is another day. Amos:)

In Regards to Sedona pens you for those who had not noticed the sedona pen that is sold by GPW is different in size to the one's sold by Perfect pens and pencils and others. However by memory the GPW Sedona's are Black Titanium if you are looking for that little bit more in plating.

This is a common issue with all the fountains ....... Junior pens including gent come in different size tubes and require different mandrels.

Some junior pens use identical tubes to some sedonas ..... some don't.

It realy does pay to check the tube and mandrel sizes AND the finished outer sizes .... they also vary. .... abd check it for ALL pens.

It is also worth noting that the correctly specified drill sizes are not always best.

Having a full set of metric, imperial fractional and number/letter drills is a very handy thing for the pen turner.

I've just done some sedonas ..... I used the specified imperal fractional drill for the larger tube, but I used a letter drill for the smaller tube in leiu of the specified fractional drill because it was a better fit.

cheers

Yes, I noticed that sometimes a slightly larger or smaller drill is necessary. Amos:2tsup::)
