So going back i time. Last time i was at the SIL's her son wanted a fence so time to start digging
Hmmmm a big tree means big roots x heaps. Move the hole and find this instead
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/16/e3f2bc3afbd3f53bffcf4d44daa95141.jpg
Well with a little endurance i was able to get some green green wood in the ground
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/16/1504854f2a79ea202ffc08180dfe6f2d.jpg
Does this count as green wood? Or is domeone going to slap me?

That gets me up to where I was three weeks ago. Now im back for the gates. The old gates lacked bracing and eith this design you can imagine what happened

A timber stop along the concrete ti stop the gates over swinging. This is what Sammy also helped me fiish off. That is what she cut to length

Hi Dave
Your offsider certainly is a little cutie, I doubt very much that an oversized baseball bat will be much of a deterrence, they can trace it back to you. Try and find some martial arts trophies and black belts, that might help to scare them off.

Ok so there was the timber on the ground to stop the gates over swinging. There is one oiece there but for continuity we wanted it all the way across.
Thatis where Sammy stepped in at the beginning. She was cutting the piece. Well next was drilling holes into the concrete
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20151227/e4d9ea5616d09b5552c407775a2bbaf4.jpg
And she did it like a legend. 6.5mm holes for nylon anchors

Then tap the sleeve in the hole

You will never regret the quality time you spend with your children, be it what she is doing in the photos, or those silly girlie momments. Or those times when they need a shoulder, you are building something that is priceless

This is how it all started with Dirk & Leah. Some 20 years on and we all work together every day. Very special.

Don't go much on her safety shoes, she wears the same style as I do.
Nice to see that she feels as though she is a big help to dad, looks like she's enjoying it too.

The best way to learn is to do it.
She might not need to do that type of job for twenty years, but she will probably remember how to do it. Only trouble is she might show up some young males.
Its great when our children (or other young relatives) can spend time with us and also help.
