Hi all - I picked up one of the above for cheap.

It needs some minor work - nothing out of the ordinary - a bit of rust, a new power cord, stuffed speed selector (rust).

While fixing the speed selector I noticed the belt is shot (limp, worn, missing teeth). It's currently a Bosch marked something like "Bosch 8192 AVX 8X700 251 08-10" - very hard to make out.

Downloaded the manual but it has no specs.

Anyone know the correct dimensions of the belt this unit is supposed to take? - I could take a trip out to Machinery House but I'd rather just drop in the belt shop around the corner!

Cheers!

Just take the belt with you to the belt shop. They will match it.

I suspected that the toothed belt on the lathe (when I bought it) wasn't right.

Turns out the hint was in the spare part detail : WA013 | VEE BELT (M23) #13 | For Sale Sydney Brisbane Melbourne Perth | Buy Workshop Equipment & Machinery online at machineryhouse.com.au (http://www.machineryhouse.com.au/WA013)

It's a M23 - several local places (like MH) were closed but it turns out Carbatec was open and had them (for use in a different power tool of theirs).

It is in fact a dramatically different belt (not toothed, not as wide, smaller profile) than the one on the machine and after swapping over on to my freshly restored pulley system the unit has a full range of speeds with no problems.

Cheers!
