I know it's not antique ... but I'm looking for a wider throated bandsaw than my current one. (pictured)

Maybe someone can help out with suggestions?

Thanks. Paul. :p

Wow, never seen a 4-wheeled bandsaw before. My first question is what on earth you'd need one that big for??
I'm guessing blade changes are a 2 person job, if you can even afford to buy blades that size

I've seen one very similar in a foam supplier, it was running a knife blade ( no teeth )

This one was for sale on Gumtree a few months ago in Goulburn, NSW. Another beautiful machine - a Sanson bandsaw from London http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc455/stewiesno1/Sanson%20Bandsaw_zpsyme9bso2.jpg (http://s1212.photobucket.com/user/stewiesno1/media/Sanson%20Bandsaw_zpsyme9bso2.jpg.html)

There was a smaller version in Sydney on Gumtree but it was much modified.
I traced the date of manufacture back to about 1860 but there wasn't enough there to bother with.
It was $100 but I don't think it sold.
What sort of money was the one in Goulurn?
Was there any other damage like the repair to the main casting?

That Sanson is lovely, I remember that being discussed on here a while ago; its got the look of the early type optional handraulic power machines. In that picture it doesn't look like there is a shoulder on the back of the wheels like the early bandsaws have had that I have seen.

They wanted $1000 for it - a bit much methinks but the ad said it was in excellent working condition with the two spare blades as well. They look like they are 50-60mm in width so I'd imagine they wouldn't be cheap either. No mention of many HP the motor was or any other specs.
