Probably was on a chute board of some type - likely one for miters. I have a picture of a large two-way single iron plane on its original board. I intend to make one like it sometime, but I don't know when I'll get around to it. It's a bit different than that one as the irons face away from each other instead of toward, and I don't recall the handle setup, but same idea.

Okay, this is a stab in the dark. Fit a blade and tote to the vacant spots on the two-way woodie and it becomes a two man plane for rapidly flattening table tops. :)

Here's the one I was thinking of. I'm going to make one of these at some point. An online ebay seller errantly sent me two single irons of the old style kenyon (though they are relatively modern), and I've got nothing else to do with such things.
