I picked this up in a junk shop off the Hume for $2. The handle is cast Aluminium and is from W Tyzack & Sons & Turner. It seems to be a bit of a Frankensaw, but with the parts related, perhaps off two saws of the same style but different sizes. The blade is cut away to recieve that sort of handle, but the recess in the handle is too short to accommodate the blade all the way up to the hole.
Has anyone seen these saws before?

Just a mismatch, perhaps? There were a lot of different saws with interchangeable blades. There's still one or two made today but they use brighter colors. So, just the handle from one 'handyman' saw' and the blade from another.

Looks like the handle that went with a set of compass saw blades. I found an old Tyzak saw list that shows a wood handled set. My guess that is ftom the 50tes or 60tes.

If anyone has a later Tyzak list then that may throw some light on it.
