View Full Version : Linking to other articles...

I've noticed posts containing links to posts in other threads and recently wanted to add a link to an image I attached elsewhere not long ago, instead of duplicating it via another attachment.

Reading the FAQ on vBcodes is straightforward enough except... you need to know the location of whatever you're linking to! Rather than experimenting with "test" posts, I thought I'd ask here how best to manage this.

Will the URL do, or does it need an absolute or relative path? If the latter, how're these determined?

Find what you want to link to then copy the address and paste it into your post. For an image that's attached to another post I think you would only be able to link to the post and not the actual image. Clear as mud?

If photos are uploaded to the board open them up in a new window and then cut and paste that URL.

So, hopefully something like:

http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/attachment.php?attachmentid=11457

would work?

And it does. :)
