If you are in NSW/Sydney and considering a powered mask-respirator, the following offer is as good as I've seen. If I'm reading it correctly; the price is for 3 complete units, but I note that the seller will sell the units separately. Not sure if the individual units would sell for 1/3 the listed price for the 3 units, but, if, so, that is about half the usual best price.

If I was in another state and keen I would see if I could team up with someone in Sydney to get in on this deal, but I already have one... : ~}

I do not know or have any interest in the seller.

I see he has put it on for 28 days so he expects a lot of bids

No auction Hughie, that's a buy it now price. Or offer, presumably if you don't want to take the three.

That is insanely cheap!!!! I paid just under that for my ONE unit!
These units are way better than the Trend air shield and the consumables are cheaper (last time I checked anyway) I'f I didn't already have one I would jump on this deal!

Its the older model but yeah if this were available 5 months ago when I bought the new model I would have jumped on this instead, great price. I think the only real difference with the new model is it now uses a LIPO battery instead which is smaller, lighter and charges very quickly - but that's not worth paying an extra $500 for.

My one has the twelve hour lithium battery like the one pictured but are you saying there is a newer lithium battery? I know mine charges quickly to 90% but takes a couple of hours for a full charge

Yes this is what the new respirator looks like: https://www.eweld.com.au/collections/speedglas-welding-helmets/products/papr-system-qrs-adflo
Sorry got the battery chemistry wrong - it is LiIon not LIPO, but the battery is tiny and extremely light.

This is the set I have 3M Versaflo Shield M 107 With Adflo Welding Respirator | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3M-Versaflo-Shield-M-107-with-Adflo-Welding-Respirator-/201546036237?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368)
- lighter weight without the helmet version face shield. I didn't pay that price though. I was lucky to get mine from a liquidation sale for a mining supply company.

That's actually a different series. The Versaflo TR-300 is still the same

Ahh I see. Sorry about that. So what I have is the Versaflo face shield, but it has been paired with the "Adflo" respirator. For the price I paid though I would still jump at the deal above posted by Neil - both fantastic units.

Absolutely! I just did some more checking and there is a new Versaflo fan unit called a TR-600 with longer run times and higher flow rates but I have the one in the listing with the lighter face shield and I think it's one of the best things I've bought!

i got this one from carbatec (https://www.carbatec.com.au/health-safety-and-workwear/dust-masks-and-accessories/dust-masks/3m-versaflo-respirator). happy with it so far, happy lungs, but wondering how it compares to the ebay listed one?

I looked at the Carbatec one and the difference is all in the new fan unit. It's lighter, has a Lithium battery and automatically adjusts fan speed to maintain the flow rate.

yeah, also looks like the helmet/viser is also completely enclosed on top, whereas the carbatec one isn't.

Mine is the open hood version (M-107), but I wouldn't think that the enclosed version is a disadvantage. The constant airflow should keep your head cool and the full cover would keep the chips out of your hair, that is if you still have any on top... : ~}

I'm starting to think at that price it would be a good buy for replacement parts alone. I expect you couldn't buy just the helmet or the air supply separately for as little as that.

Yes, an expensive bit of gear, but also very good kit, IMO. A combined shield and filtered air supply sit very high on my priority list. Without it I couldn't continue to turn.

I agree about keeping for a spare parts. I think the battery alone is about $250, and the M-107 (I have the same one) is about $400 (I think)

One has gone.

If there is anyone in Sydney who is going for one or the remaining two and would be prepared to pick up the other for me at the same time, please let me know.

I would arrange from my end for a courier pickup from wherever you nominate.

Thanks

Just the one left, but the price is now $750.

Another version (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3M-Versaflo-Respirator/222082126519?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107090050%26meid%3D9d91a449146546bcbd9dc086b360dd4d%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D222076498047) now listed (2 available), with a lower price at $700, but has the heavier NiMH battery. IMO the Li-ion version for the extra $50 would be a better buy.
