G'day
I was recently given some WA banksia pods.Looking in Google Images for ideas to use them for. I came upon these neat mushroom clocks so decided to make some.I used a 37mm clock fittup .One of my banksia pods turned out to be rotten so I made a mushroom out of an offcut of blackbutt(?) burl too.
The third picture shows how the blanks were hotmelt glued onto a square mounting block .This enabled the turning to be held on the bandsaw while the flat was cut and also to clamp it to the drill table while the hole was bored .
These are finished with DO but I latter realised that it would be much easier to drill a screw hole in the insert hole then the turning could be suspended by a string and sprayed.
Comments welcome.
