Hello all,
I am posting to ask for help identifying some scented timber.
I recently picked up an old desk in pieces during a council clean-up. I originally noticed a sweet scent from the pieces of timber which I had assumed was from whatever was stored in the drawers, but as I worked on cleaning up the timber to reuse it I noticed that the scent was the wood itself.
The entire piece was made from this timber, and the scent doesn't seem to fade after it is cut.
Attached is a photo of a few small pieces - the one on the left is finished, there are some end grain photos and a longer long grain piece.
Any ideas what species this might be? I can post some additional photos of helpful.
