splated bowl blank find !

Hi guys,
I found a old blank I had put away under the bench,
It has been there quite awhile , not sure how long
really :C....maybe 2 years , anyway thought i would
give it a crack and try to turn something out of it .:o
As you can see some splating and rot , fungus and
just a crap piece of wood really ! Tried a sharp bowl gouge
Tried a skew, tried neg rake scrapper, all worked ok
but it was just too far gone...moral of this story.
the stuff you squirrel away................
Always date and check your pieces regulary!
As you see from the photos it got smaller and smaller:doh:

Hi ted , yeah It did end up on the fire so it was of some use in the end:C
I use my steb centre In the chuck , only cos i,am too lazy to take the
chuck off !:doh:
