I just got started in wood burning and would like to know if there is an app that I can use that will turn a photograph of people into a line drawing so I can trace it? Thanks

Many photo apps can handle this. eg. Adobe Photoshop.

Personally I use Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/), which is a free download (for non-commercial use) for this and other gfx manipulations.

Sorry, I've been using it for so long that I can't tell you whether the line art filter is part of the original download or a plug-in I've added. Either way, it should be a simple matter to get it up'n'running. ;)

(edit: the Mrs just mentioned that MS Powerpoint also handles it. D'you already have that installed?)

Thank you for the reminder. I used to use Adobe Photoshop but now might try what you use.

I used to use sketchmaster pro....it wasn't expensive and delivered the goods really well :-). I can't recall if the free version was good or not, sorry.
