Hello all,
I picked up a log last week and I have no idea what it is. I put it through the Lucas today and its still a mystery. All the bark was gone when i picked it up. It has a pinkish colour and a straight, tight grain. I was thinking a ghost gum or similar maybe? It was a decent size log about a meter in diameter and four six meters long. I docked it at four meters to fit on my truck.
Any help to ID it would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I should have mentioned the log came from Adelaide, South Australia.

Sugar Gum or white ironbark ( eucalyptus leucoxylon) perhaps.??

I agree certainly looks like spotted gum, if not it would almost have to be a close relative.

Being adelaide, and the colour, i would also say Sugar Gum, Eucalyptus cladocalyx. Heavy, durable.
