I have a little 30/40 cnc machine driven from the USB port on my Windows tablet.
It has been very reliable until lately. I could not get a single thing off it without it skipping steps randomly on any axis.
I checked out the tablet for programs consuming the processor. Mach3 uses 4.5%.
Got to the point of starting to pull the controller apart.
Took a good look at what I had and thought. Um - there is a USB 4 port hub in line....
Bu..er it is faulty...
The B...dy hub is dropping bits and stuffing the CNC .
Took the hub out and all runs perfectly again....
